Daytona Dish
February 20, 2007
Furniture Row Racing failed to quality for Daytona last weekend. General
Manager Joe Garone dishes the details about the qualifying race.
"We didn't have the results we were looking for. The last practice sessionbefore the 150 race, Kenny was 15th fastest and
was pleased with the car. The car ran and handled close to perfect, as he
was able to pull up and pass at will. The second lap of the race he
called on the radio and asked if we changed the gear ratio, we replied
no. On the third lap he told us we were in trouble because the car wouldn't
run! We took every opportunity we could to pit as we worked on the car,
however we were unable to locate the problem. On the last lap Kenny was able
to get into position to score the final transfer spot, but unfortunately we
didn't have the power to get there.
On a positive note, the crew workedwell together, the car ran solid until the race."
Garone and the crew are currently headed to California determined to getinto the show.
