From the Trailer to the Track

March 15, 2006

Denver, Co- Furniture Row Racing got a crash course on getting a back up car from the trailer to the track at the Vegas Motor Speedway last weekend.

During practice, the team was performing well with a solid, competitive car. Unfortunately, at the last minute of practice, the lower radiator hose fell off, spilling water onto the speedway. Furniture Row Driver, Kenny Wallace slid in the water and ended up crashing into the wall.

However, the show must go on. The team scrambled to retrieve the back up car from the trailer, and got it immediately onto the track for the race. With no time to get the new back up car dialed in, the race was on. Even with the set back, Furniture Row Racing managed to qualify 34th and finished 38th.

Joe Garone, Furniture Row Racing's crew chief felt the team performed well under the pressure. The team was able to finish the race and accrued valuable owner's points.

The Furniture Row Racing program heads to the 1.54-mile quad-oval at Atlanta Motor Speedway this Sunday. The team will have some special race fans cheering for the #78 car. Actors Rob Schneider, David Spade, and Jon Header, stars of the new comedy, "The Benchwarmers" from Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions and Revolutions Studios will serve as the Grand Marshals for the Golden Corral 500. In association with the film, the #78 Furniture Row Chevy Monte Carlo will be sporting a new look this week. The Furniture Row logo traditionally featured on the hood of the car will be replaced with the "The Benchwarmer's" logo for the race.
