Hurry Up and Wait

Denver, CO-The Golden Corral 500 didn't go according to plan for the Furniture Row ® Racing program last weekend. The team missed qualifying at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. However, the program didn't miss the long wait to get through inspection for practice. Inspection order, dictated by owner's points, continues to be an issue. Being one of the last teams through inspection drastically cuts into practice time, and the lack of practice proved to be detrimental in Atlanta.
Crew Chief Joe Garone explains the situation. "Bringing a new car to Atlanta, we only had four practice runs to get the car dialed in. In addition, we're also a new team, so we can't rely on history to aid set up. This makes practice vital for us."
However, things look promising for the race this weekend. Driver Kenny Wallace and Garone historically have performed well on the .5333-mile oval at Bristol. Also Garone continues to see growth and improvement within the program every week.
The Golden Corral 500 was postponed last Sunday due to rain. The race was rescheduled for Monday. It was worth the wait for winner, Kasey Kahne who led 85 laps on his way to the win. This week the #78 Chevy Monte Carlo will once again sport the logo from Sony Pictures new film "The Benchwarmers."
