Subway Fresh Fit 500
April 14, 2008
This past weekend the Furniture Row Chevrolet visited the desert of Phoenix International Speedway to battle rattlesnakes, coyotes, and also the 42 other NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers on the race track. The car rolled off 40th at the start of the race, but the car developed brake problems fast. Joe Nemechek did everything in his power to control this problem, including backing off to cool the brakes. On lap 90 Nemechek brought the Furniture Row Chevrolet in for service and to take tape off the brake ducts hoping this would resolve the problem. The worse happened when none of the above worked in reference to the brake problems, and Joe hit the wall in turn 1. After taking the car to the garage and making the necessary repairs, Joe returned to the track and in his mind the car was driving pretty well. The Furniture Row Chevrolet finished the clash in the desert in 40th place. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Drivers get the week off, but in two weeks return to one of the fastest tracks on the circuit; Talladega Superspeedway.
