Furniture Row Places 25th

April 16, 2005

Furniture Row® places 25th in the O’Reilly 300Fort Worth, TX., April 16, 2005 – It was a beautiful sunny day for the O’Reilly 300 and Jerry Robertson.

“I felt anxious and nervous looking at the size of the track and the speeds, reaching close to 200mph.”A close call came Thursday during qualifying. Furniture Row® was the 6th car out which to race fans everywhere you understand that the track is very hot from the sun baking into it; therefore you are more likely to slide. “I was on the track by myself trying to cut 2 perfect laps, coming out the corner my car started to slide, right at the last second the car hooked up and I shut my eyes because I thought I was going into the wall, but I kept my foot on the throttle and pulled out of it.” Because of Robertson’s great control of the car the Furniture Row team qualified 27th and was ready to race on Saturday.

Robertson’s average speed was185.6 mph and finished 25th out of 43 cars. “I saw a lot of promise in our young team, this is the first race we actually got to run competitively, it put a fire under us. I am very excited about this race and races to come.”The Furniture Row Racing team has started off their first year strong. This was Jerry Robertson’s 2nd time qualifying for a race and making it to the show. He qualified 24th for the March 26 Pepsi 300 at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tenn.., finishing 33rd in the Busch Series race.Over all race results – Kacey Kahne held on for the O’Reilly 300 Victory. The top contenders through the second half of the race were Greg Biffle, Mark Martin, Kacey Kahne, Shane Himiel, and Reed Sorenson.Next Race — The Furniture Row team does not get any time off.
