FORT WORTH, Texas (April 16, 2010) -- Regan Smith will start 26th in Sunday's Samsung Mobile 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race.

In Friday's time trials at the lightning-fast Texas Motor Speedway, Smith's No. 78 Furniture Row Chevrolet covered the 1.5-mile quad-oval in 28.618 seconds at 188.692 miles per hour.

"We still have two more practice sessions tomorrow to get our Furniture Row Chevy dialed in for Sunday's race," said Smith. "We have continually made small improvements to the car, and Saturday will help us make the needed adjustments to get ready for race day."

The pole winner was Tony Stewart (191.327 mph). Rounding out the top-five in order were: Sam Hornish Jr., Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne.

Sunday's 334-lap, 500-mile race will be televised on FOX, beginning with a prerace show at noon MT. The green flag is scheduled to drop at 1 p.m. MT.
