Funai 250 Brings Excitement

May 16, 2005

Funai 250 Brings Excitement to Racing Team in RichmondRichmond, VA., May 16, 2005 –

The racing was intense and the track brought twists and turns for the Furniture Row Racing Team. Things began well for the team placing 9th overall during practice. This increased the enthusiasm and was a great precedent to the race. “A lot of people took note. Placing in the top ten even during practice is a huge accomplishment,” said driver Jerry Robertson.

Racing at Richmond Raceway also brought back memories. “It reminded me of my short track racing days. It was a lot of fun.” The team qualified 28th and the race continued to go well. Richmond Raceway lived up to its reputation of exciting racing. During the midpoint of the race, shortly after the yellow flag went up, the car in front of Robertson hit the brakes causing them to collide and then run into the wall. Although the team didn’t race as well as they would have liked it has not dampened the team’s spirit.

Over all race results – Carl Edwards held on for Funai’s victory. The top contenders through the second half of the race were Elliot Saddler, Johnny Sauter, and Kasey Kahne.Next Race — The Furniture Row® team will be heading to the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Speedway on June 11, 2005.
