Nemechek Qualifies in Dover

DOVER, Del. (May 30, 2008) -- Joe Nemechek accomplished his first mission here at Dover International Speedway as the Furniture Row Racing driver qualified for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race. He will start 31st in the 400-mile event.

In Friday's qualifying session at the 1-mile oval, Nemechek recorded a lap time and speed of 23.799 seconds at 151.267 miles per hour.

"Actually, the car was better than the lap - -- I lost some speed in turns three and four," said Nemechek. "But overall we had a pretty good day. This is a tough track and that's why they call it the Monster Mile. We'll work on race trim during tomorrow's practices and I look forward to having a strong Furniture Row Chevy for the race."

Sunday's Best Buy 400 will be televised on FOX, beginning with a prerace show at 1:30 p.m. ET (11:30 a.m. MT).
