Regan Smith will start 11th in Sunday's STP 400 Sprint Cup race at Kansas Speedway.

In Saturday's time trials, Smith's No. 78 Furniture Row Chevrolet covered the 1.5-mile oval in 31.138 seconds at 173.422 miles per hour.

"It was a solid qualifying effort and we look forward to carrying our momentum into tomorrow's race," said Smith, who is coming off an eighth-place finish from last week's Cup race in Charlotte, N.C. "We almost solely concentrated on race trim during yesterday's two practice sessions and feel that we'll have a good Furniture Row Chevrolet for the 400-miler."

The pole winner was Kurt Busch (174.752 mph). Rounding out the top-five in order were: Juan Pablo Montoya, Kyle Busch, Brian Vickers and Joey Logano.

Sunday's race will be televised on FOX, beginning with a 30-minute prerace show at 10:30 a.m. MT (11:30 a.m. Kansas time).
