Furniture Row Racing Team Gears Up For ChicagolandJoliet, IL., July 6, 2005 –
After a brief break the Furniture Row Racing Team heads to the 1.5 mile D-shaped speedway of Chicagoland for the Chicagoland 300. With the last two races resulting in crashes and/or engine trouble the team is undeterred and optimistic about the race this Saturday. The freshman racing team has had its share of growing pains in the first half of the season but continues to progress with each race. Success in practice and in qualifying has shown the team’s growth and ability to keep pushing it to the edge. Driver Jerry Robertson, who has never been to Chicagoland Speedway, is looking forward to the race even though he’s not sure what to expect. The massive Chicagoland Speedway sits adjacent to its sister track, the historic Route 66 Raceway. This weekend marks the seventh race for the new Furniture Row Racing Team. Both Crew Chief Joe Garone and Robertson are anxious to hit the pavement this weekend.
