Crash Pulls Furniture Row® Out Of RaceNashville, TN., June 13, 2005 –

The Furniture Row Racing Team took a hit that caused them to pull out of the Federated Auto Parts 300 race. The team had a promising start with a brand new car ready to hit the pavement for success during qualifying. During the beginning of the race it continued to go smoothly. “The car handled well and I had the same lap times as the leaders,” said driver Jerry Robertson. But as he moved to the outside groove his car slid and hit the wall. The prior day’s rain affected the track causing traction to be lost. The car was only mildly damaged and was still handling well. But it was when Johnny Benson’s car drove over the front of Robertson’s car that caused the most damage. “The car became ill handling and we wouldn’t have been able to gain more laps,” said Robertson.

They pulled out of the race with just around 20 laps left.

Over all race results – Clint Bowyer held on for Federated Auto Parts victory. The top contenders through the second half of the race were Kenny Wallace, Reed Sorenson and Tony Raines.Next Race — The Furniture Row team will be heading to the Meijer 300 presented by Oreo at Kentucky Speedway on June 18, 2005.
