July 11, 2006

Denver, CO- Last weekend at Chicagoland, driver Kenny Wallace secured a 38th place finish for the Furniture Row® Racing’s CUP team.

Crew Chief Joe Garone was pleased with the outcome.

"We had a good qualifying effort and ran a solid race. We ran Chicago with the same car we ran at Charlotte, and the adjustments we made throughout the race yielded positive results."

Garone is also pleased with the progress the team is making as a whole. According to Garone, it’s about the accumulation of learning, and theProgram is starting to see the learning curve translate into enhanced performance.

Driver Kenny Wallace agrees, "The NASCAR CUP series is an incredibly tough series, and the Furniture Row Racing team is making all of the right moves to be competitive."

On Tuesday, Wallace and the #78 team were anxiously waiting to get on the track at Indianapolis to test, however a rain delay hindered plans.

NASCAR's new testing policy changed prior to 2006, as a cost saving move for teams. The policy calls for testing at six NASCAR-sanctioned venues each season.

Those tests are scheduled by NASCAR, and teams may test two of the three days. Tests have been completed at Daytona, Las Vegas, Richmond and Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Indianapolis is the fifth such test.

The final test is in October at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Fifty-one CUP teams were scheduled to test at Indianapolis before heading to New Hampshire.

New Hampshire International Speedway, commonly known as Loudon, is Furniture Row Racing's next challenge this weekend. Kenny Wallace and the #78 CUP team will take on the one-mile track. The track features sharp turns, a slick racing surface, long straightaway. In addition, the track provides little room to pass, which makes qualifying up front the key to a successful race.

The Furniture Row Racing Busch team qualified once again for Chicago.

The team has qualified for 3 of the 4 races they've run.

Qualifying went well. The program out gunned multiple CUP drivers during the session, qualifying at at solid 28th.

During the race, handling issues forced the team to pull behind the wall with a 36th place finish.

The #78 Busch Series next race will be at Martinsville.
Colorado race fans may meet Jerry Robertson at the Dacono, CO Furniture Row Shopping Center location this Sunday from 2pm-4pm. For more information visit www.furniturerow/grandopening/
