Chicagoland Rough for Furniture Row RacingJoliet, IL., July 12, 2005 –
After a rough weekend the Furniture Row Racing Team continues to strive ahead. The team had difficulty this weekend during the USG Durock 300. Their new car crashed during a two day mock up run the week before the race and the car used at the beginning of the season had to be run for the Chicago race. This caused a struggle during practice since the car continually bottomed on the race track, however, the team was able to still catch speed and qualify. As the race began the car continued to hold problems. “At first the car was pretty good but it got tired and tight and didn’t want to turn,” said driver Jerry Robertson. The Furniture Row Racing team was able to hold on and finished 34th. Over all race results – Kevin Harvick held on for the USG Durock 300 victory. The top contenders through the second half of the race were Greg Biffle, Ryan Newman and Carl Edwards.
Next Race — The Furniture Row team will be heading to Pikes Peak for the Salute to the Troops 250. Robertson is looking forward to racing at a home track on July 23rd.
