Regan Smith Qualifies 17th in New Hampshire

July 13, 2012

Regan Smith will start 17th in Sunday's Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

In Friday afternoon's time trials, Smith's No. 78 Furniture Row/Farm American Chevrolet covered the 1.058-mile oval in 28.769 seconds at 132.393 miles per hour.

"We struggled with the Furniture Row/Farm American Chevy when we unloaded so we made good changes on it today and got better," said Smith. "I just couldn't get off the corners very good, but we will work on that in tomorrow's practices and get this car dialed in for Sunday."

The pole winner was Kyle Busch (133.417 mph).  Rounding out the top-10 in order were:  Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., Clint Bowyer, Ryan Newman, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Tony Stewart.

Sunday's race will be televised on TNT, beginning with a prerace show at 10 a.m. MT (noon ET).
