Weather Cancels Qualifying at Watkins Glen; Nemechek to Start 41st

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (Aug. 8, 2008) -- A late morning rain, which pushed back Friday's schedule at Watkins Glen International, forced NASCAR to cancel Sprint Cup practice and qualifying. The field for Sunday's Centurion Boats at the Glen will be set according to the NASCAR rulebook.

Joe Nemechek, driver of the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Chevrolet, will start 41st.

Cup teams are scheduled for two practice sessions on Saturday.

Sunday's road race at the 2.45-mile circuit will be televised on ESPN, beginning with a prerace show at 1 p.m. ET (11 a.m. MT).
