Positive momentum after Kansas
October 4, 2007
Furniture Row Racing took home a 25th place finish at Kansas last weekend with Joe Nemechek in the driver’s seat.
General Manager, Joe Garone explains the positive momentum Nemechek and the 78 team
experienced at Kansas. He also explains the COT’s “blind spot” and how it will affect Talladega.
“Kansas was one more positive step Joe and the team took towards running up front. Joe was running tenth when we had a right front tire problem with 12 laps to go. We had to slow down to avoid crashing.
Talladega will be interesting due to the COT cars never having raced on a Super Speedway. Drivers complained about not being able to see out of the cars. It creates an uneasy feeing for them, similar to following a tractor-trailer and having no knowledge of what is ahead. In addition, they can’t see out of the back as well as they could with the old car. These factors will translate into a lot of drama on the track.”
