Kurt Busch Qualifies 29th in Kansas

October 19, 2012

Kurt Busch will start 29th in Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400 Sprint Cup Series race.

In Friday's time trials at Kansas Speedway, Busch's No. 78 Furniture Row/Farm American Chevrolet covered the 1.5-mile oval in 28.667 seconds at 188.370 miles per hour.

"We have two practice sessions tomorrow to get things sorted out for Sunda y," said Busch. "The car was loose during qualifying and we paid the price. Due to the repaved track, it's not going to be easy to pass, but we'll go after it on Sunday and make every attempt to get the Furniture Row/Farm American Chevy towards the front."

The pole winner was Kasey Kahne (191.360 mph). Rounding out the top-10 in order were: Mark Martin, Clint Bowyer, Kyle Busch, Aric Almirola, Ryan Newman, Jimmie Johnson, Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick.

The Hollywood Casino 400 will be televised on ESPN, beginning with a 60-minute prerace show at 11 a.m. MT (noon local and 1 p.m. ET).
