Despite Challenges, Furniture Row Racing's Busch Team Finishes 35th at Texas
Denver, CO- The #78 Busch Series Furniture Row Chevy Monte Carlo was able to secure a 35th place finish at the Texas Motor Speedway last weekend, despite several challenges.
The team did well during qualifying, and was able to out qualify four NEXTEL CUP drivers. This landed Furniture Row a 25th place qualifying position out of 54 teams.
Unfortunately, the car provided several unforeseen challenges during the race itself, according to driver Jerry Robertson. "The car struggled with the front grip, and the rear end gear breaking towards the end of the race complicated issues further."
According to Crew Chief Joe Garone, "We will be making modifications to the car and dialing it in for Homestead which is the next scheduled Busch race."
However, Homestead is not the next race for Furniture Row Racing. The team will take on the NEXTEL CUP field at the Phoenix International Raceway on November 13th at the Checker Auto Parts 500. This is Jerry Robertson's first career CUP race.
Official race results at Texas placed Kevin Harvick as the winner. Harvick capitalized on a poor decision by Ryan Newman, and bad luck by Kasey Kahne to win the O'Reilly Challenge.
Based in Denver, Colorado Furniture Row Racing is the NEXTEL Series newest team, formed and sponsored by Furniture Row® Companies. The company also sponsors the #78 car in the Busch Series driven by Jerry Robertson.
