Kurt Busch Qualifies 26th in Homestead

Kurt Busch will start 26th in Sunday's Sprint Cup Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

In Friday evening's qualifying session, Busch's No. 78 Furniture Row/Farm American Chevrolet toured the 1.5-mile oval in 31.347 seconds at 172.265 miles per hour.

"The car was tight and it got close to the wall," said Bu sch, who was 11th fastest in practice. "Our approach was too conservative and we didn't get the lap that we anticipated. We've been in this position before and moved up in the field and that's what we'll do on Sunday."

The pole winner was Joey Logano (176.056 mph). Rounding out the top-10 in order were: Marcos Ambrose, Brad Keselowski, Carl Edwards, Aric Almirola, Clint Bowyer, Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch, Mark Martin and Jimmie Johnson.

Sunday's race will be televised on ESPN, beginning with a 60-minute prerace show at noon MT (2 p.m. ET).
