Lowdown on Loudon

Denver, CO- Furniture Row® Racing's Cup and Busch programs met their primary goals last weekend at Richmond, VA.
Kenny Wallace, driver for the #78 Cup car finished at 37th, and Jerry Robertson driver of the #78 Busch car finished at 29th.
Furniture Row® Racing's Crew Chief, Joe Garone provides some insight into last weekend's efforts.
"Once again we managed to meet our goals of making and finishing the NNCS race at Richmond. The performance of the car wasn’t what we were satisfied with, however we had a few bright moments that we will take to New Hampshire.
The NBS car was on route to having a possible top 20 finish. However, the night turned sour after Jerry was involved in an incident caused by impatient drivers trying to pass. Jerry and the team did a good job of getting the car in the race, running competitive during the race, and finishing the event even after being spun out.
The Furniture Row NNCS team is headed to New Hampshire the site of our best qualifying effort (19th) to date. The car we raced last race was wrecked, and will be back on track for this event."
New Hampshire International Speedway marks the beginning of the 2006 Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup. The top 10 drivers in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series standings will begin battling for the series title. The Chase is contested during the season’s final 10 events, a format now in its third season. The Chase debuted in 2004.
Although Furniture Row® Racing's program will not be participating in the Chase for the Cup, the rookie team is constantly chasing owner's points, experience and knowledge.
New Hampshire is affectionately known as Loudon. A series stop since 1993, Loudon’s 1.058-mile oval features narrow corners and unyielding flatness. The track will represent a lap-by-lap challenge for driver Kenny Wallace. Wallace must be smooth through all four corners at New Hampshire, which means having a car that stays under control through all four turns. An ideal setup includes a car that’s a bit loose entering each turn.
The Busch program's next race will be at Kansas on October 1st.
