Martin Truex, Jr. advanced to the second round of qualifying and will start 15th in Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway.

Truex was the 15th fastest among the 24 Sprint Cup drivers who advanced to the second round. He was also 15th fastest in the second round where the top-12 drivers advanced to the final round of qualifying.

Truex's one-lap elapsed time and speed at the 1.5-mile oval were 27.681 seconds at 195.080 miles per hour.

"The Furniture Row/Denver Mattress Chevrolet has a good feel to it," said Truex. "I am happy with our car so far and looking forward to our race-trim practices tomorrow."

Truex has claimed solid results the past three races with finishes of 14th (Chicago), 12th (New Hampshire) and seventh (Dover) for an 11.0 average.

"We want to continue our momentum and step it up a few more notches," said Truex, who has led 251 career laps at Kansas.

The pole winner was Kevin Harvick (27.325 at 197.621). Rounding out the top-10 in order were: Brian Vickers, Aric Almirola, Joey Logano, Jeff Gordon, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Busch, Dale Eranhardt Jr., Tony Stewart. and Kasey Kahne.

Sunday's 267-lap race will be televised on ESPN, beginning with a 60-minute prerace show at 11 a.m. MT (noon local time).
